Addiction: A Mental Health Perspective for Educators and Students

This class includes an overview of what addiction is and is not, and a brief description of what happens to the brain in addiction. Participants will also learn how they can avoid addiction or help others who may be at risk, why it is so difficult to recover from, and what it takes to recover. ARFL Strand 5 Standard 4 or TL Strand 3 Standard 2

Heather Schauers is a therapist working at Successful Therapy in Lindon and LDS Family Services in Provo. She graduated from BYU with her Masters of Social Work degree in 2011, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the State of Utah.
